Kids know how to enjoy the camping experience. They are naturals at it. Most of them, within 15 minutes of arrival, are exploring the campground and setting their sights on what adventures they plan for their stay. They will get plenty of fresh air when they are here and should sleep very well. We see lots of parents leave the campfire carrying sleeping kids who’ve had a full day of fun and couldn’t stay awake a minute longer.
They will eat like little munching machines. All that running around outside will burn energy and they will need to refuel. You may find that your picky eater is trying new things or be surprised when your nibbler asks for second helpings. Remind them to drink water a few times a day or eat some fruits & veggies to stay hydrated.
They are curious about their surroundings. Camping is the perfect time to sneak in some education with your kids. They are always learning so it’s a prime opportunity to talk about bugs, stars, leaves, seasons, caring for pets, respect for other campers, teamwork, taking turns, and so many things. You get more time to talk when you are camping and the kids will enjoy it.
Kids make friends while camping; sometimes those friendships last a lifetime. Many families come back the same time, year after year. When that happens, the kids can look forward to seeing each other every summer. We’ve seen plenty of families become good friends who look forward to getting together here and get caught up on each others lives.
So, bring your kids camping. You’ll get to experience it from their perspective which can be so much fun. We love to see families having fun together and we look forward to meeting you if we haven’t yet.
