Before you go camping with friends or family, you should remember that there’s more than one way to make a s’more. As a matter of fact, it’s actually a great idea to talk to everyone that will be going along on the camping trip. Do this in advance of the trip, and approach everyone individually. Simply ask them how they like to make their s’mores. You don’t even have to do this in-person; just a text, phone call, or email will suffice.
In doing so, you accomplish several things, all of which are great for your upcoming trip. First, you put a little detail of the camping trip into their minds the day you ask them, and so they are probably going to look forward to the trip more, given that they’ll spend that day thinking about being around the campfire making s’mores.
Second, you’ll know how everyone likes to make their s’mores, which means that you can have just what they need in terms of supplies available. It’s not just crackers, marshmallows, and sticks over the fire. There are many different variations possible, and most folks make them like they were taught as a kid or at summer camp as a child. It’s documented fact that helping someone remember fond memories from their youth actually makes them feel younger, happier, and healthier, so don’t let anyone around your campfire be disappointed.
Third, you’ll learn different ways of making s’mores, more than likely. Granted, if you’re going with your family, maybe everyone makes them the same way that you do. However, if everyone has a different approach, then maybe you’ll pick up some new tricks to try. At the very least, it’s an excuse for more s’mores.
