Camping people are friendly people. They are more likely to say hello as they pass each other on the road and to step up to help if they see their neighbor having problems with something. There is something about staying in nature and having time to enjoy the things that really matter that seems to make campers really nice people.
We see lots of people meet each other and become good friends while camping. Very often they end up camping the same week each summer and look forward to getting back together and catching up at the campfire. Most don’t see each other the rest of the year but that doesn’t seem to matter. They gather together and find out about new babies, weddings, graduations, and other things that have happened since they last saw each other. Now they can stay in touch on Facebook so that has changed things some but you still hear lots of laughing when they pull up to the campsite for a week of getting back in touch.
It’s interesting to think that they probably never would have met each other if both families hadn’t been camping lovers and been camping here at the same time. That’s how life is though, isn’t it? It’s one of those little mysteries that we can’t explain but can just be happy for. It’s really rewarding to see when the younger generations begin camping on their own and remain friends with the younger generation of the other group. The shared love of camping and the shared history of the two families gives them plenty to enjoy about each other and we hope they all continue on that way for many years to come.
We hope your camping experiences are all memorable and rewarding. We’re sure you can find many new friends while you are here. You only have to reach out and say hello as you pass people on the road. We’re looking forward to seeing you here and getting to know you, too.
